Creating a Japanese garden in Germany

A compact backyard garden in Germany presents logistical challenges.

The pond had already been constructed by a German colleague, after this it was our turn.
There was enough to do to make this something wonderful.
Using a crane, we had to hoist all the elements from far away.
First we cleaned up the garden after which we added the right soil mix.
Soil, boulders, edging, everything had to be moved more than 30 metres away.
A tall narrow ilex fits perfectly on the narrow strip next to the pond, complemented by a nice large boulder.
Planted with ground covers, it is already starting to look like it.
A beautiful pinus went to the far end of the garden.
Extremely expertly, we place it in place.
Existing ornaments we also use again.

A path with gravel and stepping stones connects the garden.
Our colleague creates a beautiful composition of different types of gravel.
With a nice tsukubai next to the decking.
A nice intimate nook has been created here.
With bamboo screens, we pull the machine room out of sight.
