We know from experience that old driveways often have a lot of debris and rubbish under them. Digging down deep enough is therefore desirable here.
At the front, we will use the old concrete sleepers again.
Excavated the whole at depth and loosened it.
We use old Dutch clinkers for the paving.
A combination of circles, organic lines and half-brick dressings make it playful.
Just left to chop, grind and vibrate everything.
This clinker could just about be flattered. When the vibrating plate is finished, the whole thing will be nice and tight.
A soil mixture is worked through the borders.
Wooden edging is used to separate the paths from the border.
We can level the ground in the borders.
That looks organic, nice natural lines.
The difference in height is met with a staircase of old Dutch stones.
